The city of Hanioti is located on Kassandra, a peninsula of Halkidiki. Halkidiki consists of 3 peninsulas, located on the mainland, just south of the port city of Thessaloniki. Thessaloniki is by the way Greece gastronomic capital. During summer time many of the chefs here move down to Halkidiki, so the kitchen here is a bit better than on a "standard" Greek Island. The travel Company Lilleput arranged the trip. It is a small company that specializes in places a little outside the tourist hordes. We stayed in Hanioti, and it was terrific here. A lively resort with many Greek tourists.

It's a lot to do here when travelling with children. We rented a car and went to a swimming complex just south of Thessaloniki. Terrific facilities for the children. A bit contradictory to visit such a thing in Greece, but the kids love this. And if they are happy - the parenst are happy!
