You Are Here: Travels -> Greece -> Lesvos
Lesbos (also referred to as Lesvos) is one of Greece's largest islands. It's location close to Turkey, makes it ideal for a one day trip also to Turkey. We lived in the village of Agios Isidoros (actually a small intersection!), which is about 2 km outside the city of Plomari. Plomari is Greece's Ouzo capital, with a separate Ouzo Museum.

In this little village it was very quiet. So quiet that we had to rent a car, just to do "something". We visited the port city Molyvos (named Mithimna on the map) on the northern tip of the island. This is a very nice port, with a Byzantine castle. Here we stay one night. The sunset from the castle was amazingly beautiful. On the way back we stopped in the village of Petra, which has one of the island's best beaches. There were also various water activities that you could rent here.
